Our Approach to Recovery:
Rehab & Optimization of Movement
At 360 Physical Therapy, we identify and treat the root causes of your pain and movement difficulties. At the foundation of our approach is Strain-Counterstrain, a manual technique where tension is taken off of dysfunctional tissues, allowing them to function more effectively. Once the underlying cause of dysfunction is identified, our therapists develop a comprehensive treatment plan utilizing Strain-Counterstrain, exercise & direct manual techniques to resolve your symptoms, restore mobility and gain strength. Whether you have sustained an injury, are a professional athlete or weekend warrior, we can help you move better and return to the activities you enjoy.
Fascia is a web-like network of fibers that surrounds the muscles, bones, organs, nerves and circulatory vessels such as veins and arteries. It functions to support these structures and to protect them from both macro and micro traumas.
In addition to assessing the fascia of the musculoskeletal system, our Strain-Counterstrain approach also assesses the surrounding fascia of the lymphatic, venous, arterial, nervous & visceral systems. Once the underlying cause of dysfunction is identified, our therapists develop a comprehensive treatment plan utilizing Strain-Counterstrain, exercise & direct manual techniques to resolve your symptoms, restore mobility and gain strength. In concert with this in-session treatment plan, your therapist will develop a home plan for fascial self-treatment and exercises to maintain & continue progress in-between treatment sessions.
Our unique approach comprehensively addresses facial dysfunction in addition to musculoskeletal dysfunction. Our clients have found great relief through our approach to therapy; even those who have had unsuccessful rehab experiences elsewhere have found healing here.
Brian Tuckey, the developer of Fascial Counterstrain, has an excellent article describing the history behind Strain-Counterstrain.
